A year later Kari left
the band. [Although, Kari has emphasised on the fact that she did not leave
The 3rd and the Mortal for going solo].
She experimented in folk music together with Norwegian black-metal leaders
such as Sigurd Wongraven (Satyr, leader of Satyricon) and Gylve Nagel (Ferniz,
leader of DarkThrone). Satyr, Herr and Kari had created project called
"Storm"
and recorded album "Nordavind"
- Hymn of Norway, consisted of songs of Vikings in rock-version. After
that she started making her own music. Anyway, her wish with her new project
was to leave both rock and classical, and find an expression, which will
be hers. Her first "Kari Demo Recordings 1995"
were done in 1995, and was distributed to the record companies Kari were
familiar with. This album exists in little number of copies, and probably
sold out from ages. (I hope this is wrong).
She got great response, and
signed a contract with Sony Music in march '96. Kari Ruesletten's debut
"Spindelsinn" (fully in Norwegian language) was
released January 1997, and was received very well! The songs "I menens
favn" (meaning, "In the Embrace of The Moon") and "Spindelsinn"
(meaning, "Surrounding Feeling" (or "Web Mind"?) has been aired quite a
lot on Norwegian radio. About the process of song writing, Kari says: "I
compose the songs on piano...". She finds her most important inspirations
in nature, folk music, and legends (myths).
In end of 1997 she removed
from Trondheim to Norwegian capital - Oslo, where she is living now.
The new album was released on October 5th
1998. Title: «Mesmerized». Her new album fully in English.
